These Terms of Service govern access to and use of MethodMath, an independently operated mathematics Q&A community for asking questions, writing explanations, discussing mathematical ideas, and building reputation through constructive participation.

These Terms are written to be clear and practical, but they are not a substitute for legal advice. If a law gives you rights that cannot be limited by these Terms, those rights continue to apply.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By visiting, creating an account, signing in, posting content, voting, following topics, using search, or otherwise using MethodMath, you agree to these Terms and to the Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you use MethodMath on behalf of an organization, school, project, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

• MethodMath is not intended for children under 13.
• If the law where you live requires permission from a parent, guardian, school, or other authority, you must obtain that permission before using MethodMath.
• You may not use MethodMath if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or if we previously suspended your account for serious abuse.

3. Accounts and Security

• Provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current.
• Keep your password, sign-in session, and connected accounts secure.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity occurred because of a security failure that was not your fault.
• Tell us promptly through the contact form if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Public Community Content

MethodMath lets users post questions, answers, comments, profile details, topics, votes, bookmarks, follows, reports, and other community interactions.

You retain ownership of content you create. By posting public content, you grant MethodMath a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, format, reproduce, distribute, index, and make that content available as needed to operate, protect, improve, and promote the platform.

This license allows MethodMath to show your public contributions on question pages, feeds, search results, topic pages, profile pages, notifications, previews, emails, SEO metadata, and backups. It also allows technical transformations such as Markdown formatting, mathematical rendering, previews, caching, and moderation review.

5. Your Responsibility for Content

You are responsible for the content you post. Do not submit content that:

• You do not have the right to share
• Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights
• Contains private personal information about another person
• Is intentionally false, deceptive, spammy, or manipulative
• Contains malware, credential theft, malicious code, or exploit instructions targeting the platform
• Violates applicable law or encourages unlawful activity

Mathematical discussion can include disagreement and correction. It must remain respectful and focused on the idea, proof, method, or calculation.

6. AI-Assisted and Generated Content

You may use AI tools to help draft explanations, but you are responsible for verifying the mathematical correctness, originality, and clarity of what you post.

Do not present generated work as verified if you have not checked it. Do not flood the platform with low-quality generated questions, answers, comments, or profiles.

7. Voting, Reputation, and MethodIQ

Votes, accepted answers, badges, follows, and MethodIQ are community signals. They are designed to reward helpful, trustworthy participation.

You may not manipulate these systems by using duplicate accounts, coordinated voting, paid engagement, scripts, bots, vote trading, follow trading, artificial traffic, or any other inauthentic behavior.

MethodMath may adjust, remove, cap, or recalculate reputation-related signals when abuse, technical error, or suspicious activity is detected.

8. Acceptable Use

Do not:

• Interfere with the operation, security, rate limits, authentication, uploads, APIs, or infrastructure of the service
• Probe, scan, exploit, reverse engineer, or bypass access controls without written permission
• Scrape aggressively or use automated tools in a way that harms reliability
• Upload malicious, misleading, oversized, or resource-exhausting files
• Impersonate another person, brand, platform, school, moderator, or trusted organization
• Use reserved usernames, badges, or profile signals to mislead users
• Harass, threaten, dox, shame, or target another user
• Use MethodMath for spam, scams, affiliate abuse, or unrelated promotion

9. Moderation and Enforcement

We may review reported content, automated signals, and technical evidence to protect the community and the service.

Depending on context, we may warn users, edit formatting, reduce distribution, remove content, limit features, lock threads, disable uploads, revoke badges, adjust MethodIQ, suspend accounts, block abusive traffic, or take other reasonable action.

Moderation decisions may consider repeated behavior, severity, intent, harm, technical abuse, and whether a user cooperates in fixing the issue.

10. Mathematical Content Disclaimer

MethodMath is a community platform. Questions and answers may contain mistakes, incomplete proofs, outdated assumptions, or misleading simplifications.

Do not rely on MethodMath as the only source for important academic, professional, financial, engineering, medical, safety-critical, or legal decisions. Verify important work independently.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

MethodMath may include links to third-party websites or use third-party services for hosting, authentication, analytics, delivery, or infrastructure. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, availability, or practices.

12. Availability and Changes

We may change, pause, limit, or discontinue features when needed for security, reliability, legal compliance, maintenance, or product improvement.

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, MethodMath is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

13. Account Requests and Deletion

You may request account access, correction, or deletion through the contact form.

Public questions, answers, and comments may be retained when needed to preserve community discussions, but they may be anonymized or separated from your account where appropriate. Tell us clearly if your request concerns public contributions as well as account data.

14. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the platform, laws, or operational needs change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If changes are material, we will use a reasonable method to notify users.
